E-Scope® electronic stethoscope for people with hearing impairments

The hearing-impaired version of the E-Scope® stethoscope is a patented electronic stethoscope that allows users to amplify and record heart and lung sounds without removing their hearing aid. The earpieces are placed over the ear canals or ear molds, so they do not interfere with the hearing device. Today, amplified stethoscopes play an important role in assisting healthcare professionals with hearing loss and are essential to the delivery of healthcare services in their communities.

Product details

The E-Scope® features a sleek design that allows it to be worn comfortably around the neck. With volume controls located on the head of the stethoscope, users will find the E-Scope® easy and comfortable to use.

E-Scope® for people with hearing loss can be used successfully in the following auscultation configurations:

Educational purposes: A second person can listen simultaneously with the patient: the E-Scope® has an auxiliary output for connecting a second listener or recording device. To allow the student to hear what the instructor hears, connect the stethoscope (optional purchase 718-0500) to the audio output located on the body of the E-Scope®.

Recording: To record sounds heard through the E-Scope®, the side output can be connected to recording devices. We recommend ordering the PC interface cable for full compatibility. This cable connects the E-Scope® to a PC or recording device via a 3.1 mm stereo connector (optional purchase).

Telemedicine: The E-Scope® can be used to send heart and lung sounds over the phone or internet using a recognized telemedicine system, such as PolyCom or Tandberg. The E-Scope® has been extensively tested with Cisco teleconferencing systems.
